At the Fall Sports Parents Meeting tonight (Monday, August 7), information about Lindsay’s Law will be shared. The law, which went to effect in 2017, addresses Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).
According to the Ohio Department of Health, “the ODH, the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and other stakeholders jointly developed guidelines and other relevant materials to inform and educate students and youth athletes participating in or desiring to participate in an athletic activity, their parents, and their coaches about the nature and warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest.”
All student-athletes and parents/guardians must review the Lindsay’s Law Information Sheet, as well as watch a short video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-YfCWQPeqw&feature=youtu.be, which shares more about Lindsay’s Law.
After the sheet and video have been reviewed, student-athletes and parents/guardians must sign the Lindsay’s Law Signature Form and return it to the Holy Name Athletic Office.
Again, for fall student-athletes, this information will be shared at the Fall Sports Parents Meeting, beginning tonight (Monday, August 7) at 7 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gym.
