Last week the Girls Basketball team defeated GLC opponents, Fairview and Buckeye. In Wednesday’s match up against Fairview, Junior Becky Styers led all scorers with 21 points followed by Freshmen Kiki Schmock with 10 and Izzy Rodriguez with 6. Senior Audrey Harrington also chipped in 6 points. For the game, Styers also grabbed 9 rebounds, had 4 steals and dished out 4 assists. Senior Lauren Boling also grabbed 6 rebounds and had 4 steals.

In Saturday’s game at Buckeye, the Namers found themselves down 14-0 quickly in the 1st quarter but battled back by halftime. Styers again, led all scorers with 22 points while also grabbing 5 rebounds. She also dished out 4 more assists and nabbed 4 more steals. Schmock chipped in 12 points and Boling had 11 points, including the game winner with 4 seconds left in regulation. She also grabbed 6 rebounds for the game.

The Namers return to action this week at Normandy on Wednesday followed by another GLC match up at Bay on Saturday afternoon.
