Holy Name honored its 7 Seniors Saturday night before the Namers game against North Royalton. President Mr. Terry Kenneally and Principal Mrs. Shelbrey Blanc were on hand to join in the celebration and drop the first puck. The Seniors didn’t disappoint the crowd in their final home game.
North Royalton got on the board 6 minutes into the first period to hold 1-0 lead. The Namers would storm back with 3 goals in the first to hold a 3-1 lead after one. Senior Brennan Dickey opened the scoring with a breakaway goal from a beautiful pass from Senior Defenseman Patrick Ehlert, freshmen Austin Wondoloski also assisted on the first goal. Dickey struck again from a feed from Senior Milo Henry and Dom Lugo. The final goal of the first came off the stick of Senior Chris Callahan with assists to Jake McManamon and Ben Dougher. Holy Name came out in the second and extended the lead to 5-1. Dickey finished off the hat trick with a power play goal, assists to Senior Jack Mohar and Lugo. The last goal of the second was scored by Henry from Lugo and Dickey on the power play. North Royalton would strike 10 seconds into the third to bring the score to 5-2. Holy Name buried two more goals to make the final score 7-2. Henry would get his second goal, on the power play with assists to Lugo and Ehlert. Henry buried his third of the game off a face-off win from Dickey. James Light and Brendan Greller split the game in net with Light facing 12 shots for 11 saves and Greller stopping 17 of the 18 shots he faced.
Cleveland Cup starts Tuesday with a game vs. University School at 7 PM at OBM Arena in Strongsville.
